Vice President Richard Larson called the Foundation Meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. There were 29 persons present. The correct date (Oct. 15) for the agenda was noted.
Minutes from September 2025 meeting were approved.
Treasurer’s Report for September 2025 was presented by Treasurer Gilbert Plascencia. He noted that there had not been much activity in the past month, although there were bills to be paid for pruning at the Demonstration Garden, and for pots and soil ordered for the greenhouse.
Greenhouse: Camille Smith gave an update.
New Business
Jenny Mansfield, co-lead for the Sunshine Team requested a $200 budget increase for the team to cover costs of expenses related to honoring members who have passed away.
Mary Kearney, co-lead for facilities, requested $250 for expenses related to purchase of needed supplies associated with facilities supplies and materials including a replacement rolling cart for supplies and materials.
Both requested increases were approved by voice vote.
Old Business:
John Strong reminded the group that the Fall Symposium is a little over a week away, on Sept. 25 at Pacific Northwest University campus in Terrace Heights. Instructors are Dr. David James, who will discuss Monarch butterflies, and Julie Banken, who will discuss bees, both honey bees and the large variety of native bees. The afternoon segment is a documentary film about Piet Oudolf, a noted Dutch landscape designer. John reminded the group it was not too late to get tickets.
Foundation Meeting concluded at 11:00 a.m., with 30 minutes that can be reported in Give Pulse.
